2014-15:  New Educator Induction Programming, including Mentoring, is under revision.  As decisions are made they will be posted here throughout summer 2014.

2013-14:  Dedicated retired MMSD educators make up the workforce of the school district’s New Educator Mentoring Program.  Mentors model great teaching practices and coach their protégées through the first year as an educator.  Together, they ask hard questions and seek answers, focusing on learning and student achievement.   Retired teachers who wish to continue giving to the profession enjoy this opportunity to impart their wealth of knowledge and experience, staying connected to our schools.

Who can become a mentor?

This opportunity is open to recently retired MMSD educators (within four years), who hold a current Professional, Life, or Master Educator License and aspire to provide support and assistance to initial educators.

2013 Wisconsin Act 20 specifies that a retiree may not seek employment until they have been retired for 75 calendar days.
